Until now i used seagate 2,5" 5TB drives on my iMac. Last week i received my new MacBook pro and i decided to gain some speed with a new external 2TB Kingston SSD drive. Speed should be around 1050 MB / S but it is around 60, measured with black magic app. My old 2,5 "has double this speed.

I would think that part of your issue is due to the fact that you are connecting the drive to the Mac via USB-A. you will never see the drives full capabilities through that port. does your iMac have any TB3 / USB-C ports?
Thanks Jeffrey. My iMac has this USB-C ports but same result. At home is used my new macbook pro, this has no USB A, and also same poor result. I already informed the supplier, see what they say about this. Any suggestions for a better / faster SSD? Samsung?
you asked about Samsung. I personally have a pair of Samsung T7 PSSDs. when connected through TB3, I get these real world speeds from them.
These are very high speeds! With my "old" seagate 2,5" thru USB-A i get 120 MB/S. That is rather good to. The internal memory (SSD 1TB) however runs out the scale! Over 6000 MB/S up and down!
i did buy a samsung T7 2TB. Hope i get the same or even better speeds as you did Jeff! I will let you know. Thx!
