Issue in not displaying anymore the total number of unread emails

Hi,

i have recently upgraded my phone from an 11 pro max to a 15 pro max, and after a week of using correctly the mail application, it turned out since yesterday that the total number of unread emails does not appear anymore on the mail icon.

Could anyone help on this issue?

Thanks for all of your advices.

Hello Pota2367,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here.

We would recommend checking out this article which goes over how you can change the way your notifications are displayed: Customize your Mail notifications on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. From that article, you'll see the following:

Change your Mail notifications

1. In the Settings app, tap Mail.
2. Tap Notifications.
3. Tap Customize Notifications.
4. Tap the email account.
5. Turn on the settings that you want, like Alerts or Badges.
When you turn on Badges, the number of unread emails in your inbox appears above the Mail app on your Home Screen.

The feature you're looking for would likely be "Badges" which shows the amount of unread messages on the Mail icon itself.

Thank you for being a part of the community here. We hope this information helps!

Best wishes.

Hi 👋🏻Nathan,

Thanks a lot for this very accurate feedback that you sent me. Meanwhile and after several tests I found out, what it was. The ‘modes’ that can be ‘sleeping’, ‘do not disturb’ , ‘personal’, ‘working’ or ‘driving’ were conflicting with the ‘schedule summary’ features that I had turned on, with my mail application that had the ‘immediate delivery’ setting turned on. So as soon as I removed the ‘mode’ which was set up incorrectly, all my emails with the red bubble at the bottom appeared again. I hope my answer is clear enough to be understood also by other people.
