What do I do with a "required managed update"?

I keep receiving a notification on the top right corner of my iMac. I checked to see if it is a "software update" but it seems It is not.

Here is the notification in it's entirety:

Required Managed Update

An update is scheduled to automatically install tonight. This update requires at least 50% battery or connection to a power source. Your computer will restart to perform the update, no deferrals remaining.

The update did not install the evening that it appeared, and has not automatically installed yet some days later.

I thought it may be a scam, but have not been affected by it. I've also run Malwarebytes and no issues. I keep getting the notification periodically, usually when I sign in.

Does anyone know what this update is, and whether and/or how to install it, or any information as to how to get rid of it?

Any information is helpful

how do I force the update to download and install? I usually see if an update is there and click to download and install it........

The "Required Managed Update" that I am speaking about does not appear in the software update panel at all.....It is a notification that appears at the top right of the desktop, but does not appear in software update panel. I have never seen an update like this before .......usually they are in the software update panel.

Hi....

I've had the same error message appearing on and off now for about 4 months...I called apple support, because I have AppleCare + coverage. They told me to go to software update, but there was not software to download, and the error message does not appear to be related. This message always appears at the top right corner of the desktop like all the other reminders. But when it says it will download tonight automatically it never does. I tried it with the computer on, off and of course with the Safari browser open. I haven't got the slightest clue as to what it is, or what causes it. It does not appear to be a virus or malware. I ran malware update, and got no files corrupted. I have not idea what it is or how to download it. If you should chance to find out what it is, I would like to know it also.
