Completely locked out of my Apple ID. Don’t have a clue how it happened. I can’t use it, reset the password or do anything. Apple said it was "locked for security reasons.” I did nothing to cause this. I just want to be able to get into cloud.

Last Thursday, October 19, 2023, I couldn’t sign into my Apple ID. It wouldn’t accept the password I had been using so I tried to change the password which did nothing. I had no idea why this happened. I have called Apple three times and get the same runaround. They say they do not have the authority to “unlock” this account for my “protection.” Since I didn’t cause this to happen, I don’t know how to fix it. I even tried to create a new Apple ID using a different email address and it shows up under “subscriptions,” but my original email I used to create the account years ago is still showing up under my name and I’m back to square one. I simply don’t know what to do. I can’t access my iCloud photos, apps or anything. I’m stumped, frustrated any angry because I have spent so much time to trying to get answers and I’m still no further along than I was a few days ago when this first started. Any help would be appreciated, but keep in mind I’ve tried pretty much everything and it didn’t work.
