Nightstand mode turns off during the night

Big reason for getting a 15 Pro Max is the Nightstand mode but the screen has started turning off during the night. It worked for a few days when I first got it but now doesn’t. If I touch the screen it displays my lock screen. How do I get it to stay on all night?

Hello DocTex,

We would like to see how we can help you with StandBy mode on your iPhone 15. Which iOS 17 version are you currently running? Go to Settings > General > About for the version. If you turn StandBy off and back and then restart, does the issue return? Follow the steps in this link to turn StandBy mode off and then back on: Use StandBy to view information at a distance while iPhone is charging - Apple Support

"Turn off StandBy

Go to Settings > StandBy, then turn off StandBy."

Get back to us with these details so that we have a better understanding of the issue, and we can go from there.

Cheers!

I have an iPhone 14 Pro.

I've carefully followed all these instructions, and Nightstand Mode continuous operation is still very hit and miss. The clock and local weather are displayed when I first rest the iPhone on the charger, at some point the weather will be substituted for my wife's first name and FIND-MY location, then later, the display will switch off. So in a consistently unpredictable basis in terms of timing and sequence.

I've tried several wireless and wired chargers, from Apple and Anker, updated the OS to the latest, turned Standby off and on. And the result is just the same.

I used to have a 3rd party app which worked rather well, but I was afraid of screen burn. Now I have the Apple OS equivalent which avoids screen burn by displaying random and unpredictable data then switches off the display!

Surely Apple is better than this? Frustrated is an understatement!

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
