How do I disable Sonoma screensaver. I just want a plain colour

What makes you think that you have to have a screen saver, at all? You can turn it off completely.

System Settings->Screen Saver, click "Lock Screen Settings" and set "Start Screen Saver when inactive" to Never.

Then you can just lock your screen and it will show whatever desktop background you want - yes, it can be a single color - see System Settings->Wallpaper->Colors...

It's actually System Settings->Lock Screen->Start Screen Saver when inactive->Never

Just set it to turn off after a period. You can set the screensaver to never.

If you consider black a color, you can just set the display turn off after a set time and not enable a screen saver.

Will setting the Wallpaper color to black also turn off power to the monitor?

If not, how to turn off power to the monitor after 30 min's?

If you mean set to sleep that most do not recommend because of other issues it may cause (e.g., drives ejecting, etc. Just have your display turn off (screen)

This does not work. It doesn't remember the setting, and after a while it goes back to 15 minutes.

Same here. i was thinking its a issue with the external monitor. are seeing same behavior without an external monitor ?

I do not have that option.
