Music doesn't count last track played

Whenever you play an album or a playlist, the last track of this album or playlist doesn't increase the play count.

This problem was first noticed in Ventura and reported to Apple, but I'm now in Sonoma and the problem persists, making lots of my smart playlist useless (I'm always listening to the same album again and again because the computer considers that I have never listened to it).

Does anyone have any idea about what to do on our side (users)?
