apple pencil battery stuck at 98%

i have a 2nd gen apple pencil and it has always been connected to my ipad. lately it hasn’t been able to be fully charged to 100% as it gets stuck at 98%. additionally it loses battery pretty quickly when it is detached from the ipad. how can i fix this? is my pen broken?

I noticed lately is at 0-30% when I need to use it and not showing charging and would indicate that it is discharging while connected magnetically to the ipad (not showing the charging symbol). If I remove it and put it back on (adjust it even) it starts to charge and seems ok eventually going back to discharging. I cannot find what causes it to discharge constantly. The pencil is less than a year old. The last pencil just died and would not charge or even show as connected. Any help diagnosing this would be appreciated.

Apple Pencil Stuck at 0% When connecting the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil to my 5th Gen iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil connects but the battery stays at 0% and It doesn't work. I got a new 2nd Gen Apple Pencil and the same thing happened. Please, does anyone have a solution to this?

Apple pencil 2 connects and shows 100% battery but does not work when detached! Hello, I have an AP 2 and when I connect it to the ipad it is recognized and shows 100% battery, but when I disconnect it it looses connection. I suspected when I connect it, from the power of ipad it manages to connect but when detached the battery is 0, so it looses connection. I told this to GENıUs guy and he insisted on not replacing the battery even though I accepted the cost whatever the result be.what should I do? Any ideas.
