How do I switch between languages in Messenger App on a Macbook Air M2

On my Macbook Air M2, I have installed the Messenger app and my usual language is English. However, when chatting with French-speaking friends, I want to be able to switch between English and French. How do I do that. (It's easy on my ipad with the globe symbol on the keyboard, but can't figure it out on the Macbook.
