HomeKit scene bug changes all Apple TV commands at once, not allowing individual commands

Within the Home app, setting up a scene, changing what an Apple TV does in one room then changes the Apple TV setting for all rooms, not allowing independent commands.

In this instance, I’m setting the ‘Bedtime’ scene. I have many Apple TVs throughout the house, so I’m programming it to turn off/pause the Apple TV in the living room, but turn on the Apple TV in the bedroom. When you press one of them to indicate on/off, it abruptly scrolls you to the top of the screen and changes every single Apple TV at once, all matching the command attempted.

This is from an iPhone 15 Pro running 17.0.3. Reboots and resets galore. Nothing fixes. Reported today.

Hello Alexander Blair,

Based on your post, you have issues with scenes on the Apple TV in the Home app. In this case, we'd recommend taking these related steps for a solution:

  1. Restart all iOS devices, all Home Hubs, all affected HomeKit accessories, and all network equipment.
  2. Check for and remove any VPNs or security software: Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues
  3. Delete the scene and then recreate it to test it out: Create and use scenes in Home on iPhone

Should the issue continue to occur, then it would be best to partner with Apple Support: Get Support They'll need to take it from here.

Cheers!
