I need to recover old text messages from July 2023. cna i recover them?

If your messages aren't in the Recently Deleted folder as outlined in Recover deleted text messages on your iPhone or iPad, the only way to recover them would be by restoring a backup from before you deleted the messages.

There are a few things to note before you try recovering an old backup:

• If you use Messages in iCloud, your message history syncs with iCloud and would not be part of the backup. You can check whether you're using this feature at Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Messages.
• To restore from a backup, you need to erase your iPhone. This means your iPhone would be reverted to the time when the backup was made, and you may lose any data that was added between then and now.
• There is no way to know if the deleted messages are in the Messages history of the backup until you restore the backup.

With all that in mind, you can locate backups of your iPhone to see if you have one that was created between July and now that has the missing messages following the Apple Support article we linked.
