Series 7 Apple Watch. After 10.1 update my battery only lasts a few hours. I can literally watch the percentage go down. Rebooted the watch. Shut off background app refresh after advised by a friend. Still drains ridiculously fast. It’s essentially useless now. I’m out of ideas. Anyone else have this problem? This is crazy.
My watch used to last two days, even with me running an hour a day. I no longer run and now it drains faster. I have to put it on the charger overnight and again mid-day. Normally, it takes about an hour to charge. But there are days that it takes up to five hours to hit 100%. I haven’t added anything or changed any settings since I got it almost two years ago.

Mine does the same thing. Apple Watch Ultra. I cant make it to 5PM without it dying. Used to have over 50% left after all day use. I hope they fix this quickly.
I have removed 3rd party apps from my Series 7 and there does seem to be big improvement in the battery drain.
Of course, this is not a fix because the apps are what give the device its value.
Series 8 slow charge fast drain with apple accessories- was fine prior to 10.1
They refused to send me one because mine doesn’t fail diagnostic-
I’ve charged mine twice in less than 8hrs trying to keep it working. Reset it once and now it won’t even charge! It’s gone down 15% in 20min!! This is not normal!
I’ve uninstalled all apps as others have had success with - not much improvement- also not getting text notifications anymore- beyond frustrating
Do you by any chance have a third-party watch face app? I read another blog that these apps are causing the drain because they have not updated to the latest OS version requirements.
Don't bother with an appointment. I went and they said the only thing they could do was send it out. And charge my credit card $200.00
Yes, if it doesn’t fail diagnostic test then nothing they can do - must schedule appointment with apple or Best Buy
After the 10.1 upgrade, my Ultra 2 drains to zero in about three hours. Before the upgrade it lasted about 2 days.
Well, then, like every single OS before this, the updater was responsible for detecting that, and preventing the install.
I did this: reset it and set it up as new.
