Email search and texting issues

I am not a happy camper this is my third email when I searched my emails for past emails the emails will come up I click on them and the screen is blank. Nothing happens. I’ve done everything you’ve said. A second problem has occurred. I search my texts, and nothing is found. Maybe occasionally it will find something. Yet I can search that same term on my MacBook and it will give me 20 things. So there’s something clearly wrong with my search on this phone I’ve done every thing you’ve said, other than resetting the phone. Please advise. This is the newest iPhone 15 Pro Max. It only started when I got this phone.

iPad, iPadOS 15

Hello Dougkkk,

Searching for emails on your iPhone (by following this guidance: Search for email in Mail on iPhone - Apple Support) should work as expected every time. If you've followed those steps and it is not working right, troubleshooting this issue further would be appropriate. As we're unaware of what steps you've already taken, we advise that you take the following steps which may help with this: restart your iPhone, make sure it is up to date, close the affected app then reopen it, and make sure all apps are updated.

Restart your iPhone

“1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Update your iPhone or iPad

“1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now."

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

“1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.

2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.

3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app."

How to manually update apps on your Apple device

“1. Open the App Store.

2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.

3. Scroll to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All."

Beyond that, if the issue persists, further assistance may be needed. We want to make sure you reach the right team for help with your iPhone, so we recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support - Apple.

This is happening to me, too. When I scroll down through my mail and click on the email that I need, the email loads, no problem.

However, when I search for the exact same email using the search bar, the message will come up in a list, but when I click on the message, it will not load. This happens for ALL emails using the search function.

I have tried all of the troubleshooting tips you have suggested above, as well as removing and re-adding my mail account.

I appreciate it I’m not crazy and my text messages. Forget I can’t even search through them. I have to go on my MacBook to search through my text messages. No one can tell me what’s wrong how to fix this. I pay over Grand for the pro phone and I can’t search my messages on emails. I can’t open my messages that are older so I had to use the Gmail app. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Maybe resetting the whole phone is the answer and restoring it

I don’t appreciate your response like I didn’t follow all those steps now I can’t even search my text messages nothing comes up I have to go to my MacBook to search through my text messages so there’s something clearly wrong with the phone and I have followed all of the instructions that you’ve given me I cannot search my emails and pull up an email. I have to see it but when I pull it up as a blank screen. So I have to take an added step of opening the Gmail app and searching through there. I cannot get an explanation on how to fix this maybe restoring the whole **** phone and starting over is the way to go I don’t know I wish someone from Apple could answer I’ve only spent thousands of thousand and thousand thousand dollars with Apple.
