what 55 inch tv would be the best to work with my Apple products; Apple TV, iPhone, MacBook Pro?
We want to buy a new tv but see some go with Google. Is there tvs that are more compatible with Apple than others?

I have a Sony Smart TV, Model KD-75X80J, which has 4 HDMI ports. I don't have an AppleTV unit but can AirPlay from my iMac or iPhone to it easily.
So I'd recommend a Sony Smart TV in the size you need. I suggest you determine which model you're primarily interested and download a PDF version of the user manual for it. It will tell you all of the inputs, outputs, size, etc.
I got ours at Amazon for a very good price. Just checked the specs and it's a Google tv.
