Do I have problem with my battery?

Hey,

I bought a used iPhone 13 from a trusted source.

The problem is that sometimes my phone reboots out of nowhere. So I use it and piff, it restarts. Strange thing is that then it doesn't ask for the PIN code, ONLY my passcode (so I suspect it's a crash). Once it also happened that my phone could only charge up to a certain percent. Then I manually restarted it and the battery was at 0 percent. Then my phone said that the battery is an unknown component. But only at that time. Since then you can still see the battery status and that the battery is unknown is also not displayed. But the battery status is only 99% and the battery discharges a bit faster. What can be the problem? I suspect it's the battery, but then why is it no longer displayed that it's an unknown component?

I have a warranty of course. So if no amount of trying will help I will send it back of course.

Maybe someone can help me solve the problem at home.

Thanks in advance!

Perform a Forced Restart on the phone. Follow the instructions very carefully, as this is a bit tricky. You may need to repeat this several times.

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

There are only 2 possible results when you perform a Forced Restart:

1) The phone returns to normal operation.....or.....

2) There is a hardware problem with the phone that will need attention at the Apple Store (make an appointment) or take the phone to an authorized Apple Service shop.

You can find a list of authorized service shops in your area using the link just below:

Forced restart didn't help me but here are some updates.

I did a factory reset and a set my phone up as new. So no backup and so.

Since then I have not experienced any restarts. I also wrote down the battery percentages while using. I have been using mostly Facebook Messenger and Instagram. TikTok as well but not for a long time.

According to the second picture the last charge was 83% at 1:41 PM. The screen was ok for 2h33 mins and off for 11 mins.

My battery's maximal capacity is 99% like stated in my original post.

Is it considered as normal battery performance?

Apple states 'We can replace your iPhone battery for a service fee. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use. Your iPhone is eligible for a battery replacement at no additional cost if you have AppleCare+ and your product’s battery holds less than 80 per cent of its original capacity'

Everything from100 to 80% is considered normal.

Is your iPhone covered by an insurance/warranty/apple care+?

Perfect, it depends the way you use the iPhone, the apps that are running in background, apps connecting and draining the battery, it could be normal, it could be not, so I'd turn off Background App Refresh and Location Services, put your iPhone on the table for 5-6 mins and check the battery. If it doesn't drain as it was I'd consider checking your settings, if it does take it back for a refund/exchange

Yes, I know what Apple states. I meant with my question if it is normal that my battery drains 1% in 5-6 minutes on average.
I do have a warranty for 2 years from the place I bought my phone. If it turns out that the amount of discharges is not okay I will certainly send my phone for repair.

The battery has been replaced with a non-Apple battery.

If you have the option of returning it for a refund, do that.

That phone is untouchable by Apple.
