Handoff in Sonoma keeps glitching between Macbook pro and iMac

My MacBook Pro, iMac, and iPad worked seamlessly before Sonoma. Now, my handoff between MacBook Pro and iMac appears to be disconnecting. The only way I get it back is as I have to ensure the laptop is active, meaning if I am working on the iMac for a bit, it connects only to the iPad. I have to keep pushing towards it, but mainly, I have to click on the MacBook Pro to make it "active" for the mouse to transfer. I didn't have these issues prior, but it's almost multiple times a day now.

Bluetooth is fine, and wifi is fine as well. I don't have to restart it; I have to keep playing with it or click on the MacBook, and it works again. But it has gotten severely annoying.

I have tried all Of the suggestions, I have tried to ensure hand-off is on, etc. As I mentioned, it works after several tries, and then I click on the laptop a few times. It appears to me that it is a software issue or something is causing it to "time out". I also tried setting the sleep much longer but not sure what changed.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15
