Mac OS Sonoma 14.1 error after update

Following the update to Sonoma 14.1 (today 27 October 2023) I continually get the following dialogue:

“Apple Corporate Insight and Detection Agent” is damaged and can’t be opened.

"This file was downloaded on an unknown date".

I've restarted and it continues. The dialogue doesn't go away. I can navigate to the app but can't interact with it.

What app...?

Is this Mac managed by MDM or other profile?

I suppose that is because , the update resets the computer clock and time component stops working . In my case, the clock got resetted to 7th Oct 2023 and even after trying to automatically set time & date , it did not work. I had to manually configured the time and after which the system started working normally . There seems to be a bug or issue with the update.

I think you’ve missed my point; the act of placing the file into the Bin, has stopped the pop-ups (an inactive state). That was my immediate requirement as the relentless pop-ups were annoying. However, appears to be some debate on here as to whether this may be a system file. Once it’s been verified either way by Apple, I will then either delete or resolve and reinstate.

This is not your question to begin with.

However, appears to be some debate on here as to whether this may be a system file.

I'm not sure what file you are referring to. However, regardless of what file it is, if it were a system file, you wouldn't have been able to move it to the trash.

Once it’s been verified either way by Apple, I will then either delete or resolve and reinstate.

How is Apple supposed to verify your file? If you put a specific file in the trash, it will stay there until you delete it or put it back. Ain't nobody going to tell you nothing about that file.

If you did want some feedback, I recommend starting your own question about your own file. Otherwise, you are doing nothing but adding confusion and misunderstanding to someone else's problem.

I am referring to the same file as in the thread topic which also has the same symptom. Surely that's a valid enough reason to be included? What is the logic in posting duplicate questions?

At least this part of your comment was constructive. It is possible as leroydouglas mentioned, that it could well turn out to be an internal profile file. I'm sure I will find out.

I will be asking one of my colleagues at work tomorrow. I only thought there may have been a moderator online today and we could have all shared the knowledge.

That's not the way this forum works. People participate and try to earn points with helpful responses. But only the person who originally started the thread can award these points. So when you piggyback onto someone else's post, most of the people who provide solutions are going to ignore your post entirely.

Furthermore, the person who started this thread said that the problem went away after restarting in safe mode and running Disk First Aid. But that doesn't make any sense, so it is unlikely to help anyone else. We don't know what is going on here. You may be able to provide more meaningful information, but no one is going to want to interact in this thread.

I'm skeptical. "Apple Corporate Insight and Detection Agent" is a name that Apple would never use. If Apple ships an Apple Corporate Insight and Detection Agent, they would name it something like "ACIDA.Framework". On the other hand, malware normally doesn't pretend to be anything other than malware either. But the OP did say they couldn't interact with the file in any way, whereas you said you were able to delete the file.

I only thought there may have been a moderator online today and we could have all shared the knowledge.

That would be a great idea, but it never happens. You can start your own question and maybe get a solution. But if this were a widespread problem, no one would care about your solution. Once a thread gets started with enough "me too" and "same here" responses, there is no answer they will accept. I've seen this happen so many times before.
