Voice Isolation on 3rd Gen AirPod

Does the voice isolation mic mode on iPhones and Macs still work when you using 3rd Gen. AirPods, though it doesn't have active noise cancellation?

Airpods Max - Mic mute function? AirPods max are 500$. Can it not mute microphone when away from phone or computer? Not talking about muting the music volume, but muting the microphone?
