I'm trying to airdrop files from my M2 MacBook Air to my 2010 MacBook and vice versa. The Airdrop window does show up on the 2010 MacBook but It can't find any devices, and my M2 MacBook Air doesn't find the 2010 one. my 2010 mac is on High Sierra and my M2 is on Sonoma.

AirDrop on Macs requires a modern Wi-Fi chipset, meaning older desktops and notebooks are not supported.
You can see this from >(Option key) System Information>Network>WiFi

It's not possible to use AirDrop between Sonoma and a pre-2012 Mac.
