Apple TV volume control and YouTube

Here’s the issue I can’t find fix for. The problem is when watching YouTube and using the Apple TV remote, the page scrolls up/down when I use the +/- for volume change. The weird thing is when using my AirPods Pro for audio listening the page scrolling does not occur. Go back to listening via my tv speakers the issue returns. Tried resetting and reinstalling YouTube with no joy. Problem only persists with YouTube app. Anybody have same problem and/or fix?
