HomePod Mini Temperature Calibration

I have several HomePod Minis and their temperature readings are way off based on other temperature sensors in the same room. For example, as I write this I'm sitting in my bedroom where I have a Mini and a high quality digital room sensor. The digital sensor says the temperature is 79°, but the Mini says it's 69°, not a minor difference. The two devices are sitting within 10" of each other.

And based on what it feels like, I have no doubt it's MUCH closer to 80° than 70° in the room. The only thing I can find on recalibrating the Mini is to restart it...which I've done.

Why doesn't Apple let users do a manual calibration? I have automations to turn on fans when rooms get hot and it's silly that I need to "trick" the system with bogus temperatures to get things to work...
