ios 17 photo iCloud sync failure

Hi,

iPhone 11, upgraded through the various steps from 16 to various releases of 17, now on 17.1

when I went 16 to 17, my photos to iCloud sync broke on iPhone. It did not break on new release iPad.

i tried all the basic steps, confirm connection, confirm space, confirm enabled, restart. Turn off sync, wait. Turn on sync. Also read that backups interfere and running a backup clears stuck jobs…nothing. Photos won’t sync to cloud. Everything else works other than the typical known bugs of overheating, optimizing system, slow apps, clicks going loud and quiet, random freezes….

symptoms

inconsistent photo count, varies during the day by 1000’s…

inconsistent status messages like downloading from cloud, uploading from cloud, sync paused due to optimizing sync paused due to phone too hot, sync will start after backup, Icloud restoring from backup(it’s not) also had 19000 photos on phone and iCloud, now phone says 7000!

I have restarted many times, connected to charger connected to wifi,(many different ones). Connected to cellular provider….upgraded 3 versions of 17…

help???

I can’t wipe phone have hundreds of vacation photos waiting to sync to cloud…..
