What does Rosetta do?
I thought Rosetta was supposed to let one use older programs without the need to update apps, but apparently not. Nothing like that happens with a new Mac Mini.

I thought Rosetta was supposed to let one use older programs without the need to update apps, but apparently not. Nothing like that happens with a new Mac Mini.

On Macs with Apple Silicon, it allows Intel software to be run.
On Intel Macs running Tiger through Snow Leopard, it allows PowerPC software to be run.
It only provides the basic framework. Individual applications still may not work with either the hardware or software and require updating.
