Screen turning on with every notification.

I have an iPad 10th Gen and have noticed that with every single notification the screen lights up. I have searched to try and figure out how to stop the screen from turning on but the only full proof resolution is to put the iPad in Do not disturb. I want to still get the notifications and the sounds just don't see the point of having the screen turn on when I have it covered 99% of the time with my case. Please can someone tell me how to do this?

I've noticed the same thing with my Mac Studio. At night, every notification makes the screen turn bright, until the screen dims.

Mastering the Notifications Screen should reduce the problem. Go to System Settings/Notifications, and look at the four top settings. Show Previews can be disabled by choosing "Never." The three to toggles further reduce or increase the amount of screen involvement. You can substantially reduce the unwanted Notifications this way (but probably not 100%).

I also strongly suggest updating the Application Notifications app by app. You can disallow Notifications on any app, or just the most annoying ones.

In System Settings/Do Not Disturb/Set a Schedule, choose a period of time for reduce incoming messages.

In System Settings/Focus, you have further ways to modify your schedule and accessibility.
