With macOS Sonoma 14.1, I cannot print a PDF within Adobe Acrobat; I get a "not responding" error message for Acrobat and Distiller and have to Force Quit both. However, I can print a PDF within Preview. What's the answer please?

If you are printing to a Postscript printer, use the Generic Postscript Printer driver. You should be able to print to that.
RossRicky, sorry that was not of any help. As mentioned below, using another app may be the best solution. Preview? I have read elsewhere, but not verified, that another workaround for the removal of PSNormalizer - not that we have established that's what you're seeing - is to "Print as Images" from Acrobat. Hope this is of some help.
If you have a PDF open in Acrobat, why does it need Distiller? Are you using the Acrobat Print toolbar tool? In the Properties : Security of that PDF, is Printing allowed, and if not, Acrobat should be able to change that to Allowed.

Adobe Creative Cloud offered no update, but within Acrobat itself the "Help>Check for Updates" offered an update from existing version 23.006.20320 to version 23.006.20360. Unfortunately, the same issue still exists, that I cannot print a PDF within Acrobat and have to Force Quit Acrobat and Distiller. Any other solutions?

To be honest, this specific problem has been going on for decades. Eventually Adobe will fix it. But then the next update from Apple will break it again.
Over the decades, people have repeatedly told Adobe, with their wallets, that they really like this behaviour and want it to continue. Don't believe me? I bet your credit card statement will agree with me.

I've run a design company using Macs since 1992 and have never had issues with printing PDFs within Acrobat (latest v.2023.006.20360). Only when I upgraded to macOS Sonoma 14.1 did the issue start. My colleagues have also upgraded to Sonoma but are able to print PDFs within Acrobat. I can print PDFs within Preview.
I reset Acrobat preferences and also uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat, but no progress. I'm not sure it's actually a Sonoma or Acrobat issue, but maybe something very small on my Mac that is causing the issue, even a rogue or ancient file somewhere.
Any further ideas please? Any help much appreciated.
