need a dvd player for MacBook Pro 2021

would the Apple USB SuperDrive work?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

yes, an apple superdrive would work. and it is also what I would recommend. I have one and it's given me a long service life. and it's still kicking. but it will not work if connected to the Mac through a dock or hub. and since your Mac has only TB3 / USB-C ports, you will need an USB-C to USB Adapter to connect it directly to the Mac. some third party adapters may work, but it will be a craps shoot as to wether or not it would work.
