If your account has been disabled for security reasons

If you see one of the following messages, your Apple ID locked automatically to protect your security and you can't sign in to any Apple services:

  • “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”
  • "You can't sign in because your account has been disabled due to security reasons"
  • "This Apple ID has been locked due to security reasons"

You need to reset your password to regain access. Find out how to reset your password

If you've been locked out of your iPad and need to regain access, here are the steps to follow:

1. **Wait**: If you've entered the wrong passcode multiple times, your iPad may be disabled temporarily. Wait for a while, and it will automatically enable you to try again.

2. **Use iCloud**: If you have enabled the "Find My" feature on your iPad, you can use iCloud to remotely erase your device and set it up as new. This will remove the passcode but also erase all data on the device.

3. **Use iTunes**: If you've previously synced your iPad with iTunes on a computer, you can use that computer to connect your iPad and use iTunes to restore it. This will also remove the passcode but erase your data.

4. **Contact Apple Support**: If you can't use iCloud or iTunes, it's advisable to contact Apple Support for further assistance. They may ask you for proof of ownership to help with unlocking the device.

5. **Data Recovery Service**: If all else fails and you don't have backups, there are third-party services that may be able to help you recover your data, but these can be expensive and may not be guaranteed to work.

Remember to keep your passcode and backups in a safe place to avoid getting locked out of your device in the future.
