Restore legacy video device support in MacOS Sonoma does not work

When I follow the instructions exactly, in recovery mode, in terminal, typing in the command exactly as given

system-override legacy-camera-plugins-without-sw-camera-indications=on

only results in the response

command not found

What can I do to make this work? My MacMini M1 doesn't have a webcam of course, and now my Logitech webcam has been disabled by MacOS Sonoma.

Mac mini, macOS 14.0

Hello Ryan

As a long time Apple product user, I totally understand your frustration with the way that new versions are rolled out. Problem is that as a product users, we have no say in how Apple rolls out new updates or features.

With that in mind, I encourage you to start a new ASC question with your system information and an explanation of your current issue. see > Writing an effective Apple Support Commun… - Apple Community

i have been trying the same thing and i keep getting an error that state something along the lines of Encrypted cannot execute.

this is so frustrating having a steady day to day work flow, and a single update throws everything completly out of whack. Im not a computer expert, it took me over an hour of troubleshooting to even get to this point. All im trying to do is get my **** eos R6 to connect to zoom becuase i use it for my meetings and presentations. Like its 2023 and all of these companies do not think about the end customer when they make these changes. it makes me want to buy a windows having trouble like this every six months with mac.

that is not an answer...also this problem still persists. I migrated from 2018 MBP on Big Sur where everything was working fine (after a pile of time invested in getting it that way for basically the exact same issue I'm having now) All that said I have tried a bunch of these solutions....turning on support legacy plugins - didn't work.

You cant just blame blackmagic design for this stuff....you need to have actual solutions for this stuff when you change these things so these other companies can catch up to your never ending OS releases.

Rant done... Did anyone get this working? or at least figure out where the adjustments need to be made?
