Unable to access color settings on multicolored clocks in Standby Mode on iPhone

Surprising that Apple hasn’t commented. This IS a bug in 17.4. I have it on the released final version.

I’m experiencing the same on an iPhone 14 Pro. Just updated to iOS 17.4.1 and the issue was not fixed. I submitted a bug report on the Apple iPhone feedback page. We’ll see what happens. Not a huge deal but annoying nonetheless.

I have the same exact issue on my 14 Pro Max. I am on iOS 17.4.1.

I find it interesting how the pictures and widgets pages are still somehow customizable, despite this bug.

I tried holding down for longer or tapping right before I hold down the screen during standby, but nothing seems to work. The strange thing is that this bug did not occur right after I started using Standby; it happened right after I customized the last and first clock pages. I was only able to customize these pages once each, which is strange.

I also tried restarting my iPhone from scratch but nothing worked. The same issue with Standby still persists.

Ah, that makes more sense. I only just got my 15 Pro Max and just keep thinking when I put it into standby, “there just has to be more options than red for this clock”. So it’s really a bug huh? Not functionality that has been unceremoniously taken out with no warning or intelligible rationale? Here’s hoping!

Same issue here..... this morning discovered the function to be able to change the faces and now there is no option to change anymore. locks the face with the color/config. Shows no option to change after long press.Glad I am not the only one with this problem. Have an iPhone SE 2020 with iOS 17.4.1

I think the reason why they have it on just red is because it’s better on your eyes just like how Apple has an option for the Apple Watch for a red flashlight. It’s better for the eyes. I hope that makes sense.

Initial post was from October 28, 2023. I had the same issue on my 13 pro max. Now it is 19 March, I’ve buyed 15 pro max, trying to change the colour once on one of the clocks, and what have I seen? The problem is not gone))) the bug is still present🙃

I have the same problem on 15 pro, last version of iOS. Happy I’m not the only one, so perhaps sometime Apple will fix it. And in the additional - the clock disappears even if the display is set up for no turning off - I have to touch the screen in the nighttime.

Same thing happened to me, it happened to me over a month ago. Still no way of fixing this?? Ridiculous Apple! I have the 15 and paid quite a bit for a phone I thought would work properly, this is only one of many issues I’ve had with this phone. Might be time for a switch to Samsung.

Unrelated to this, your previous problem with voice commands has happened to me several times, and the only solution was to do a fresh install of OS, but I had voice command backed up. For your problem (if it happens again), I wonder if this file from Time Machine would help:

/Users/XXXX/Library/Preferences/com.apple.speech.recognition.AppleSpeechRecognition.CustomCommands.plist

It just happened to me after updating to iOS 17.4, but it applied to all color-configurable faces. After changing the chosen color, it locks that face with the color, and the edit option is gone.

Same as mine. My 15 Pro Max just updated in iOS 17.4 but after that I can’t change my color of clock.

I have the exact same problem it was working before I updated to 17.4 and now it doesn't work any info how to fix this.

Same thing happened to me. Mince doesn't even let me long press anymore.

Come on Apple lets get this fixed already.
