best internet security software for MacBook Pro?

Hi, I'm wanting to install the best rated security software on my 2019 MacBook Pro. I am currently using a product called "Bitdefender Total Security" and not so sure it is the best. Would anyone have a suggestion regarding this issue? Thank You! - Rick P.

I have been searching for anti-malware and VPN for my MacBook Pro with a N1Chip. Everyone has an opinion and the supposed 'best' software changes depending on who you ask. I have tried several 'free' VPNs that have slowed my computer down and blocked some of the software I have on my MacBook. Am I wasting my time searching?

My suggestion is you're wasting your time, and possibly money, installing any AV product or using any online AV scanner.
