How do you remove Activation Lock, in this situation?

  • You don't know the credentials, so you can't remove it yourself.
  • You "have no way of contacting" your friend, so you can't get his or her help to remove the Activation Lock.
  • We cannot help you to remove the Activation Lock.
  • Apple will not help you to remove it.

The bottom line is, you don't remove it. You possess a brick. Recycle it responsibly.

You're the owner of the Apple ID? The person to whom the phone is Activation Locked?

I thought you told us before that "i bought a iphone 6s off a friend and not knowing activation lock on. and i have no way of contacting him." That gave me the impression the phone was Activation Locked to someone else.

It still is the case that

  • We cannot help you to remove the Activation Lock.
  • Apple will not help you to remove it. By your own admission, it is a second-hand phone, so you certainly would not have proof-of-purchase documentation showing that you were the original purchaser.

But if it is locked to your Apple ID, you can remove the Activation Lock using your Apple ID password.

Your "friend" did not prepare the phone correctly to pass ownership. He/she should have followed these instructions:

The phone is useless until this occurs. Surely you will be able to contact your friend.....since after all, they are your friend.

Apple cannot remove the Activation Lock on the phone, if that might be what you were thinking.
