Pages tables formulas on IPad Pro OS 17.1 not working

Ive been using tables in pages since buying my IPad for for basic mathematical formulas frequently for the past few years. Studying engineering and use it frequently. My formulas in Numbers still work, however the tables in pages suddenly do not allow formulas ie using equals does not initiate a formula, instead it just pastes an equals sign in the box. Ive tried all I can think of, restarting IPad, did an OS update, checked for updates to pages, changed the cells from automatic to numbers, to currency etc. Nothing has worked. If I share the document with my MacBook, I can use formulas on the document. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
