I am unable to delete my whatsapp backup in icloud.
Manage Account Storage > WhatsApp Messenger (47.7GB) > There are no documents in this folder
Anybody experiencing this? How do i solve it? Thank you.

I had the same issue and manage to fix it. Solution is to delate this on your Mac Laptop or desktop. Go to > Preference > Apple ID > Click Manage and delate WhatsApp backup. For some reason on the iPhone you cannot delate this data no matter how many times you try.

Tried 10 times in my phone, comibing configurations for Whatsapp but until I tried in my Macbook it was gone first try in there, phone seems bugged.
I had the same problem. I had to startup my old iPhone, then go to settings and was finally able to delete the data there. I think the data was there because of my old phone and that it could only be deleted with my old phone, or maybe a mac, which I don’t have.
I was able to delete from macbook after failing to delete from iphone. Hope this helps someone.

Hard restart. Off/On.
Most of the time it doesn't even allow me to attempt to backup because it says storage is full.
Even though nothing is full. I paid for iCloud purely just for WhatsApp backup.
Did you try to hard restart the iphone and check it again?
Did you try to delete Whatsapp app and reinstall it?
I think there is a bug in IOS 17.1, but now the problem is now solved. The way I deleted was to use another apple product, in my case was to use the MacBook. Finally!

I'm having this exact problem! For ages I couldn't upload a backup, then suddenly I was able to but now it's maxing out my iCloud storage. I go to delete it, but I get "There are no documents in this folder" instead of the option to delete data that exists for all the other apps using my iCloud!
I'm experiencing the same problem; my iCloud storage is nearly full due to WhatsApp backups. What's puzzling is that even Apple support seems unsure about a solution. It almost feels like Apple wants users to purchase more iCloud space, leaving us stuck with storage issues.
May I ask for more details on how? I'm currently on Monterey and can't update because of this. The file appears in `/Library/Mobile Documents/WhatsApp` - when I scan my disk, but I'm unable to get to it from either Finder or Terminal - despite showing Hidden Folders.
I even restored the iPhone from manufacturing, but it didn’t work!
I can’t do that because I can’t even backup my data.
