Logitech C920 Pro no longer working on MacOS Sonoma 14.0

When traveling, I primarily use my Macbook Air M1 2020 as a workstation and use the built-in camera for video conferencing. When I was at home, it was mostly in clamshell mode, and I used it with my Logitech 920 Pro webcam and it worked flawlessly. After upgrading to Sonoma, my camera frequently disconnected or could not be read at all. It could have been a compatibility issue, but when connected to my ultrawide monitor, I prefer to use my MacBook in clamshell mode. Is this something that will be addressed in the future? I dislike getting a new camera since I enjoy the one I have and do not intend to get a new one.

Logitech support is useless...but I did have this issue with my M1 mini running Sonoma 14.2.1, and fixing it was as simple as installing the LogiTune app. https://www.logitech.com/en-us/video-collaboration/software/logi-tune-software.html. Hope this helps!!

I'm currently experiencing something similar. My Logitech C920 worked fine until this week. I have it plugged into a Dell monitor, which then connects through USB-C to my laptop. It doesn't work on my M2 work laptop (Sonoma 14.4) and it doesn't work on my personal M1 laptop (also Sonoma 14.4). It works fine on my Intel iMac (13.6.3), so I know the camera is working.

It's something quite fundamental that's happened in the latest MacOS update, I think. It doesn't even see the USB device; System Report shows no cameras other than the laptop's built-in FaceTime camera.

Installing LogiTune seems to have made it work though. This wasn't required before.

I use the Logitech C920HD Pro webcam with my M2 Mac mini Pro and macOS 14.1. It works with FaceTime and Photo Booth via a StarTech 5-port USB-C hub (bus powered). I use a Xaosun USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 to USB-A dongle.

However, though I have a 16-in MBP M1 Pro here, I never use it with my 32-in LG 4K display, so cannot report on clam shell mode with this webcam.

@VikingOSX I am having the same issue as others. Both my HP Envy 4500 and Logi C270 stopped after working I installed Sonoma 14.5 and perhaps the previous Sonoma update. I need to do a bit more switching things around. However, I looked on Amazon regarding your StarTech USB-C hub. When I found it, there were 4 models shown from around $20 to $36. Can you be any more specific on the model number or a pic perhaps? Thanks.
