IBooks Audiobook App

Some changes have been made to this app, I guess. It is the most dysfunctional app I have used for Audibooks. No option to download to device even with purchase, no option for creating notes or bookmarks, no options for quality of playback, doesn't sync across devices.

Music Mini player in macOS 26.2 no longer displays current track title and info without user interaction. Since the update to macOS 26.2, the Music app mini player no longer displays the name of the track that is currently playing - except when you bring the music app to the front (or set the mini player to stay on top) and hover the mouse pointer over it. This is less than ideal. The primary reason for glancing at the mini player when working in another app is to see what track just started playing. Not so easy now. It's difficult to understand how this user-hostile change to the mini player interface made it into a public release. Perhaps there's a way to force the mini player to always display info about the currently playing track? Please fix this, Apple. Aesthetic tunnel vision should never take precedence over practicality when designing GUIs.

Need an equaliser for audiobooks HELP I need an equaliser for a 3rd party audiobook app (Audible). I have just wasted 3 hours dwnloading equaliser apps from the App Store and NONE worked!! They only worked with music or downloads. i have tried saving the books as files and dropping it in Apple Music - no joy!

Star rating missing in Music app After upgrading to MacOS Sequoia 15.1, the star rating field in the Music app is no longer showing. It doesn't matter how wide I make the viewing window, it now just shows the song name, artist, whether it's downloaded, and the length. Clicking the three dots on the right doesn't show the ratings option either. I can rate the song by using the "Get Info" window, but then I have to open that window and close it again for every single song that I'm rating. Has Apple removed that item, or is this a local anomaly on my Mac Studio?

Appreciate your input. I did find out that Apple Audiobooks cannot be transferred to other apps better suited for Audiobook format. I can access Apple audiobooks on my desktop but I am very active and listen to audiobooks on my iPhone while walking, exercising or working around the house. The Ibooks app is not well designed for audiobook listening.

You can download purchased audiobooks on other devices.
