Syncing music playlists from iTunes on Mac to iPad
Since the iOS 17.1 update, syncing music playlists from iTunes on my iMac has become a problem. Yesterday I was trying to sync several new tunes, and my entire group of playlists just disappeared from my iPad 6. I tried a few fixes to no avail. After restarting both devices a couple of times all of the playlists simply reappeared like magic. The very same thing happened today. Note that I typically sync using Finder either wirelessly over wi-fi or by connecting my iPad to the iMac. Note also that the last thing I was going to try before my playlists reappeared the last time was to delete all of the playlists from my iPad and start over, but I couldn’t get this to happen by syncing either.
Another key factor is that I have a new iPhone 15 Pro, and I’m not having any problems with syncing it.
Is this a problem with the iOS 17.1 update or the iPad or what?
By the way, I am not a subscriber to Apple Music. I just have a large music library on my iMac, and I like to create playlists and sync them to my iOS devices from iTunes. Here’s another really curious fact. I have a second music player on my iPad because it has a wonderful equalizer. While the music disappeared from the Apple music player, it remained in the other player. So, the music was still on my iPad somewhere but just not appearing in the Apple Music player. Is that weird enough for you? What is going on here?
