iTunes shows Automatic and Manual choices on the Summary page but Automatic and its choices are fixed and unchangeable. Manual is greyed out and can't be chosen. I don't want to wait while ITunes backs up my iPhone every time I connect! I would rather have the choice of when I want to backup.

Select "iCloud" in the "Automatic Back Up" section. Then the "Back Up Now" button in the "Manual Back Up and Restore" section when you want to backup to the computer. When "This Computer" is selected in the "Automatic Back Up" section, the "Manual" section will be greyed out.
