Network drives seemed to have disappeared after macOS 14.1 update

I am new to Mac, having just bought my first one 2 days ago, so please forgive any ignorance on terminology.

When I bought this new Mac Mini M2, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it immediately located all of my pre-existing network drives with no prompting or work on my part. I use 2 different hard drives on my windows computer for movie storage, video surveillance backup from the security system, etc. However, last night I updated the OS to Sonoma 14.1, and now all access to these drives is gone. "Network" no longer appears in the file structure when a folder is opened at all, and when I select "Go" > "Computer" from the menu bar, network appears, but there is nothing in the folder anymore. The network storage computer is running windows 11, and no changes of any kind were made to the system. It hasn't even been rebooted.

Anyone know how I might be able to restore access?

I solved this problem by selecting Go->Connect to Server and typing in "smb://<IP address of my server>". I am then asked which folder I want to open, and the selected folder appears in the Network section of Finder. Also, the whole server is now showing on the left-hand navigation section of Finder.

Yes, those settings are on. As it turns out, After about the 10th reboot, it started finding the network drive roughly 1 our of three boot cycles. So, I can get it to work eventually, I just keep having to reboot the machine until the network drive appears.

Now I am experiencing a new issue though. The Mac Mini randomly drops internet connection, while everything else on the network keeps chugging along with no interruptions in service. It's also making a crackling sound through the connected speakers today, which it never did before, nor did my old PC. That has so far endured through 3 boot cycles. It really does not seem to like 14.1.

Forgot to mention that the internet connection is wired CAT6, running off the same router as the PC with the network drive I am connecting to. I also tried going to the wireless connection and it was no different. iPhone running off the same WiFi never lost connection either.

Is this even a real community, or am I just wasting my time posting here? This issue continues to be a major problem, and I've just spent the last hour rebooting my Mac Mini over and over again trying to get it to connect with no success. What gives here? It worked fine last night, and there have been no changes on either machine. The almost complete lack of response is rather irritating.
