mine is beside the one. When I use shift or just hit the key none of those symbols show up. 2 completely different ones come up.
You have the French Canadian keyboard, not US. Go to system preferences > keyboard > input sources and make sure that Canadian CSA is the only item on the list.
If you are running Ventura or higher, you go to system settings > keyboard > text input > edit > input sources.

Thanks for your help. I found what I was looking for.
Good news! There may be other characters you need that are not obvious on the Canadian keyboard. To find which key makes them, you can use Keyboard Viewer. You just press shift, option, and option shift to see what is in the layout
Use the Keyboard Viewer on Mac - Apple Support

Thanks but that doesn’t tell me how to find the / on the keyboard
Do you have this at the top right of your screen?
If not, adjust your system settings so this is your active input source.
Then what you type should match what you see printed on the keys. If you do not get / by pressing the key it is printed on, tell us what you do get.
Why are you still using the keyboard layout called "US"? You do NOT have a US keyboard. As mentioned a couple of times already, you have to use the layout called "Canadian-CSA". You need to remove the one called US and replace it with Canadian CSA.

On the US keyboard layout, it’s on the same key as the ?

I’m not sure what that is, but it’s not a US keyboard layout. It’s not Albanian either.

What keyboard do you have?

These are the symbols that show up & this is what’s on the top right of the screen

That sounds like an Albanian keyboard to me.
If it is, and you have selected in settings that you have a US keyboard, it is NOT going to behave the way you expect…
That hardware keyboard is not a U.S. keyboard.
I’m not sure what that is, but it’s not a US keyboard layout. It’s not Albanian either.
Your knowledge in this area never ceases to amaze me, Tom!
That would be it!
