Does Quick start work with an iPhone 8?

I am updating my daughter from her current iPhone 8 to a 14 Pro Max. Will the Quick Start transfer process work with such an old phone as the 8?

Using Quick Start for Data Transfer from iPhone 8+ to iPhone 16 I have been watching videos about transferring data from an old iPhone to a new one (in my case an iPhone 8+ to a 16). Almost every source makes a statement about installing the latest OS before doing the transfer; the current iOS out is 18.5, but the iPhone 8+ quit receiving upgrades after iOS 16.7.11 Do they mean the latest version that your current phone can accept, or are they assuming my old phone is still new enough to accept iOS 18? Has anyone had issues transferring data from an 8 to a 16?

Tranferring old ipad to new ipad I have been trying unsuccessfully to transfer everything from my old iPad Air to my new iPad 2022 10th Generation. My old iPad has ios 12.5.7 so should be able to use Quick Start. I do exactly what the instructions say and both iPads communicate with one another and start the process. However, the process does not complete even after leaving the 2 iPads together for over 3 hours. I know that our broadband speed is around 3.8mbps but I have been told that it should take 2 hours at slow speed. I have tried the Quick start process 3 times now but the process never completes. Should I continue letting the process run for over 3 hours? Is there another way of completing the transfer?
