MacBook Air M1 running Sonoma 14.0. On websites with email address links, nothing happens when I click on the link. Mail doesn't open. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it please? TIA

Well, the problem is solved, thanks to AI bot Pi. I went to Mail - settings - general - and found that the default email reader was set at Chrome! As soon as I set it to Mail, the problem went away. Hope this helps someone else.

I assume you're using Safari.
That's commonly called a dead link.
Try another browser: Firefox or Brave to confirm it is/is not a problem with Safari. It may be the case the websites are not in tune with Safari's required security.
Thanks for the reply stumpy1946. It happens on all my browsers unfortunately. Must be a preference thing somewhere on the IOS but what is it and where do I change it?
