How to add Tennessee DL to Apple Wallet?

It’s still up to the legislative and other government agencies to implement. What most people don’t realize is having the license or state ID in the wallet is meaningless. So far the only governmental agency that recognizes it is TSA. TSA only has implemented it at the ~20 largest airports in the country. This means you still have to carry your physical license if you’re driving. Even states that have approved Apple Wallet still require you to carry your license.

Bottom line, it’s not what everyone thinks it is.

No. So far only 4 states have authorized use of Apple Wallet for driver's licenses. They are Arizona, Colorado, Georgia and Maryland.

I think it’s stupid that Tennessee isn’t allowing this! Georgia is allowing it and they are 1 state over basically our neighbors and they’re doing it! Come on Tennessee and get your act together we need this too! I have ran out and forgotten my DL many times and this would help a lot! Especially if I’m pulled over for any reason I can keep my hands in view of the police officer at all times! Because my DL, vehicle registration & proof of insurance would be right there on my iPhone! I already have my vehicle registration and my proof of insurance already on my phone and Tennessee allows your vehicle registration to be on your phone, so why not this and for those of you that don’t know here’s the proof that you can put your vehicle registration on your phone!

Looks like TN is finalizing legislation for it, so it should be coming soon! (although who knows how long legislation will take...)

While there’s been no official comment on Apple Wallet support, last year an acquaintance who works on these partnerships told me, very offhandedly, that Tennessee had signed onto Apple’s IDs in Wallet program.

For me, it’s the way that they’d casually mentioned it, as if they forgot it was probably under NDA, leads me to take it as true.
