I am thinking about buying a Apple Magic Keyboard case and I am curious if it will work with my 9th generation IPad.

No. The Magic Keyboard for iPad is not compatible with the iPad9.

There is, however, an Apple Smart Keyboard folio this is compatible with the iPad9:
