My iPhone 12 Pro is not functional since the iOS 17.0.

Ever since I updated my iPhone 12 Pro to the 17.0 iOS update and further updated it to the 17.1 iOS update, I can no longer use Safari as a browser because the pages turn up blank and I also cannot reach websites when I click on a link sent to via email. Apple support people via telephone have given me zero help because they don’t even know what is going on. I need to have this fixed otherwise my iPhone is useless to me.

To change your standard browser on your iPhone, for example Firefox, go to Settings/Firefox/Standard Browser App-> select Firefox.

Have a look at the related article:

Also, resetting the cookies, cache, and history might help:

Clear the history, cache, and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Then try again to access go to the Apple Website and see, if you are still getting the page for the last Keynote presentation.

I have been using Apple products more than 30 years. And the general remark about other fellow uses had not been directed at you.

Yes, you added screenshots of the start-up page for the Apple Event October 30th. But you did not reply, if the Apple Webpage changed back to normal, after the Apple Event, as in the screenshot I posted.

Also, did you manage to change the default settings for the standard browser on your iPhone, as explained in the linked article?

Any profile installed on your iPhone, or is it a managed device?

So here's one more elementary step I would recommend.

To rule out a software issue, set you phone back to factory settings on your computer. Set it up as a new device, without using a backup.

Then test your installed browsers again. If they work as expected, restore your data from the latest backup.

No, participants in theses discussions don't get rewards per replies or answers.

But, if fellow users do not include in their post, what they have already tried to troubleshoot the issue, I might have to test a few different ways to find the reason for the problem.

One of the first things to do would be a Force restart, in case some apps or settings are causing this.

Sorry, but if you refuse to try the basic troubleshooting steps like setting you iPhone back to factory settings with out using any backup, and test your phone after that, no one here might be able to help you to narrow the problem down.

Even the Apple staff at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store will recommend this as a first step.

The screenshots above are what happened two different times when I used Safari to go to Apple.com. Freaky right?

Yes. I did a network reset and safari still didn't work. Then I tried using safari at a clients studio on their wifi. It still didn't work. Then I did a hard reset and safari still doesn't work. I have posted views of what showed up when I tried to go to apple.com on safari and it's pretty freaky. The entire 12 series iphone has been a disaster. I started with the 12 iPhone mini and apple switched it out 4 times. Then a senior advisor convinced me to go to the apple store and pay an additional $325 to get the 12 Pro. Well, the 12 Pro has been switched out once and, frankly, I give up. Apple does not honor their warranty and I am disgusted with Apple. A friend of mine has a great Samsung Galaxy 12 Ultra and since I have received zero help with this latest issue from Apple, I'll be getting a Samsung.

Yes I already stated that the problems I’m having are a direct result of the 17.0 iOS update. I also downloaded the 17.1 update. And I don’t have any VPN or any other restrictions on my iPhone 12 Pro. And there is importance to resetting one’s WiFi in cases like this.

Can I ask you all something else? Does Apple give you points or other benefits per replies/answers that you make? Because if so, this compromises the entire purpose of Apples so called “community.”

Thanks.

I use Chrome and Firefox and used to use Safari when Safari was working. Chrome works and so does Firefox but the problem is that the iOS system controls access to everything, so for example, when I go into my gmail and open an email that contains a link, the default is Safari, regardless of the fact that I have Google selected in my settings, every link I click on in any of my emails, opens to a blank screen because Safari isn’t functioning.

Ingo2711,

Are you serious? "But, if fellow users do not include in their post, what they have already tried to troubleshoot the issue..."

It is you that does not read the posts, clearly, because I have already posted 6 messages on this chain and 3 screenshots, explaining them fully.

When you don't read someones question and also don't read their reply posts to others responder you waste my time, your time and everyone else's time.
