Can't reset password for iCloud email, logged into Apple ID with a gmail

I upgraded my phone in September, and have not had access to my iCloud.com email since, only phone. I have done the "Iforgot" SO MANY TIMES and nothing happens. I am logged into my Apple ID, using my gmail.com email, but I have a lot of important information coming to my iCloud email, HOW do I fix this issue? Support just led me through the iforgot steps again, and still nothing.I can access my iCloud on my MacBook Pro, but not my iPhone. I don't have my computer with me at all times.

The Apple ID is signed in Mac , you have incorrect credentials for secondary authentication account like three answers for respective questions , date of birth , rescue mail address and its password , yet have correct Apple ID password and the Apple ID say example1@gmail.com , but will not be able to sign in at www.icloud.com .

That's the reason Reset your password at iforgot.apple.com link is not working when you reset the password from iPhone .

However this iPhone is verified in Mac system preferences ( yet the Apple ID is signed out from iPhone ) , add a different iPhone and its number Use two-factor authentication for your Apple ID on iPhone - Apple Support

And then convert secondary authentication account into 2FA Use two-factor authentication for Apple ID security on your Mac - Apple Support

Is your Apple ID say example1@gmail.com signed in Mac system preferences , your iCloud mail address could be different say example2@icloud.com that is added in internet accounts .

When you use Verify Your Email Address - Apple Developer

if your gmail address has been deleted from gmail server , it will not verify however it still exists on iCloud server .

Don't post your actual Apple ID here and tell what is the status .
