YouTube audio goes off for split second when screen is clicked off

I have a paid YouTube premium subscription, all of a sudden when I click the screen off using the side button the audio from the YouTube clicks off for a fraction of a second.

Never used to do this, was never an interruption in the audio when I would purposely force the screen to go black so that I couldn’t accidentally click on something else with my phone in my pocket.

I have forced the YouTube app closed I’ve done a soft reset of the phone and it still does it.

Troubleshooting YouTube App:

Reinstall the App:

Remove the YouTube app and then add it back. Get it here: YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream

Report this to Apple with Feedback:

Do your Part: This seems to be a commonly reported bug in these forums. Question is: "How many people have let Apple know about this bug?" Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what bugs are occurring, and what needs to be fixed. Apple will know nothing of this occurrence, if you don't report it to them.

But if the video is minimized in the corner, it does not happen, only happens when YT is full screen.

Just upgraded to iOS 17.1 and still does it.

Also in storage of my phone is 14 GB for system data normal, my wife’s iPhone 14 is much lower less than half.

Am I the only one? Nobody else is experiencing a split second loss of audio when they are watching YouTube full screen and they click the screen off with the button on the side of the iPhone?
