Can you change Preview Thumbnails Size?

Coming from a late 2013 MacBook Pro where Preview thumbnails were much smaller I am a little overwhelmed by the size of the thumbnails in the current Preview version.

In the previous version while reading a newspaper I could see about 9 to 10 thumbnails on the left side of the screen, now I can see about 2. That seems obnoxious to me.

Is there any way to reduce the size of the thumbnails?

how do you get instant preview when looking at a jpeg Hi when I used to select a jpeg on my Mac I used to get an instant small preview on the right hand side but now all I get is an “icon of a sea view an upside down glass” But no preview even when I select the different tabs at the top of the page anyone?
