Icloud accounts

Hi my wife and I have separate icloud accounts both with a storage fee. We are continually near the limit so want to combine into a family account and keep everything in one place. Also increasing the storage allowance will be more cost effective. Is there a way to do this and combine all our photo's etc?

The following support documents will help you.

Set up Family Sharing will create your family group. One of you will need to be the organiser and bear the costs of the family group's purchases in order to share future purchased content.

Upgrade to iCloud+

Once your family group is set up it would be a good idea to then proceed to upgrade your iCloud+ plan to a superior one. Then when the larger iCloud storage plan is in pace, invite the other person to join and at that point you will be asked if the second person wants to join the family iCloud+ storage plan. All their content will be safe and untouched, the only change is that they will be using the larger space in the family group. Their current plan and billing will cease with the migration to the family iCloud+ plan.

How to use Shared Albums in Photos on your iPhone, iPad and Mac

Photos collections will remain separate in the family sharing group, but if you use the steps in this document you can create shared albums and each have a copy of the photos.

The billing for your new and larger iCloud+ account will commence from the moment you make the change, and your old plan will cease. You will be reimbursed pro-rata for the amount of the monthly plan you have not used.

Likewise, this happens to any family member whose billing for an existing iCloud+ plan ceases when they accept the invitation to join the family sharing group iCloud+ plan.

Just make sure that your new iCloud+ family group plan which you intend to share is large enough for your needs before inviting the second person. You will need to have an iCloud+ plan in pace which can accommodate the space already in use in the two individual plans.

With regard to the existing iCloud+ plan what is it you want to verify? Are you or your wife paying the account's monthly billing?
