I want to upgrade the ssd storage on my device 2012 mid Macbook Air 11 a1465

Hello everyone, I want to upgrade the storage on my device (2012 mid Macbook Air 11 a1465). I researched the subject on the internet and ordered the necessary m2nvme ssd and converter (WD240GB NVME) and (nvme to 7+17pin converter). I remove the original storage unit on my device and install the newly purchased storage. I am trying to install with the flash that has macos catalina installed in the memory, but the newly installed storage unit does not appear. I did nvram reset, smc reset, but it didn't work, could it be that my device does not support nvme?

MacTracker indicates that the "Hard Drive Interface" on that Mac is "6.0 Gbps Serial ATA (SATA)." Other World Computing has aftermarket SSDs for that machine, but their site indicates that the factory SSD is a SATA SSD.

This Reddit thread indicates that the 2011 Air doesn't use PCIe for the SSD controller. The SSD must be a SATA one.

I would have hoped that your adapter would be keyed to prevent the insertion of a NVMe-only SSD, but maybe it was meant to support multiple models of Macs, some of which do have NVMe controllers.

@Servant of Cats is correct. The 2012 model only supports SATA based SSDs. If in doubt, then check out the product page for the OWC Aura SSD for this 2012 laptop where it only provides an option for a "6G" SSD which means "6Gb/s" which is the max bandwidth for a SATA III controller, plus the OWC SSD's rated speed is the SATA III controller max. If this laptop could support an NVMe SSD, then OWC would surely be providing one like they do with the 2013+ models.

FYI, the only SSD adapter I've seen which seems to work without issue on the 2013+ Macs is from Sintech. While other adapters may work, I've rarely seen success stories as compared to the Sintech adapters. Not that this will not help you here with your laptop, but I'm mentioning it for anyone else doing research.
