Is there a way to get access to an older iPhone that is locked with a passcode, without deleting the data?

12 years ago I got an iPhone 2G, as years passed I forgot my password and I tried too many times to unlock it. It's locked to this day, is there any way to unlock it, I haven't connect it to anything it was just for pictures and games and I'd really like to get reminded of those memories. If you got any idea I would appreciate it.

There is no iPhone called "iPhone 2G". The second model that ever shipped, in June 2008, was the iPhone 3G.

You might be able to reset it with the aid of Finder or iTunes running on a Mac or a PC. However, if you do that, everything on the device (except for perhaps its association with your Apple ID) will be wiped out.

Getting Back Into this:

If you cannot unlock this, then you're stuck with a brick. If you have a proof of purchase (i.e. sales invoice or original packaging), then Apple would unlock it, and you can get access to it once more. So, set up a Genius Bar Appointment, asking them if this a faulty device.
